SUKKOT IN SPRING HOME REPAIR
Sukkot in Spring Home Repair is Yachad's signature program. Since 1992 hundreds of single-family homes have been repaired. Yachad recruits area synagogues and other Jewish groups to tackle serious home repairs for lower-income families in our greater community, many of whom are elderly or disabled.
HARD HATS AND HELPING HANDS
Hard Hats and Helping Hands Home Repair Program (5-H) recruits building contractors and trades-people to provide their expertise and services. The goal is to organize a highly skilled volunteer labor force to provide needed repair services to low-income homeowners through out the DC area.
RAMP IT UP!
Ramp it Up! with Yachad is a summer program for high school students who have completed their freshman year. Students spend the week building an accessibility ramp for a lower-income homeowner with disabilities
THE FAITH TO FAITH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The Faith to Faith Community Development Program brings together minority churches and Jewish real estate professionals to work side by side developing plans and restoring properties. Yachad's Faith-to-Faith church partners take the lead in creating affordable housing for families, delivering support services, and developing commercial amenities for neighborhood residents.
Mitzvah Party is a custom-fit program designed to offer a group of volunteers (friends, student groups, business cohorts) a chance to have a hands-on-experience repairing area houses. The group works with Yachad to create a project that will fit the group's time, expertise and budgets.
