What is the Our City Film Festival?

Our City Film Festival is a film festival dedicated to encouraging pride in Washington, D.C.  All films that take place in or are about Washington, D.C. are welcome in the submission process.  The festival is being sponsored and produced by Yachad, the Non-Profit Housing and Community Development Corporation of Greater Washington.

What are the requirements of the films that have been submitted?

The contest was open to all films about or that take place in Washington, D.C. with particular attention paid to those about community service, communities/neighborhoods, history, inhabitants, culture, and customs.

What are the categories of films accepted?

Most of our submissions were documentaries so the categories of the winning films will be the following.

Documentaries (under 10 min)

Documentaries (11-35 min)

Documentaries (over 35 min)

 

What are the prizes for the winners of the film festival?

Best Short Documentary: $200

Best Mid-Length Documentary: $400

Best Documentary (over 35 min): $500

Best Student Film: $300
