Mitzvah Party is a custom designed program which provides a group (friends, student groups, business associates) an opportunity to have a meaningful, hands-on experience repairing the home of a family in need. Yachad will provide the group with a project that fits the group's time, expertise and budget.
Option 1: Mitzvah Party in a Box
Yachad provides site selection, site preparation, project management, supervision and materials for the Mitzvah Party. The party "host" will invite and organize the volunteers and be on-site throughout the project. Yachad does all the pre-party preparation of the home.
Cost: The fee is $2500 which covers Yachad's site preparation, project management and materials.
Option 2: Self-Help Mitzvah Party
This option is for a party "host" that can supply a skilled contractor/project manager to oversee the project, do the prep work and organize volunteers during the work day/s. The project manager must be skilled in home repairs such as carpentry, plumbing and electrical work. The project manager works with the homeowner to determine the scope of repairs and the budget. Project manager gets the materials and does any prep work before the volunteers arrive.
Cost: Yachad charges a flat fee of $500. The host and project manager are responsible for the cost of the necessary materials. Generally, the cost for materials averages between $500 and $2,000 depending on the scope of work.
