Celebrating the Life of Mr. Abe Pollin

We are saddened by the news that our first Yachad Community Builders Bash honoree and long-time supporter, Abe Pollin, passed away today, Tuesday, November 24, 2009. He will be missed by many and we wish to send condolences to his family and friends. He was a true leader and improved the lives of many in our community and beyond. Because of him, Washington, DC is a better place.

Thanks to all of the volunteers who participated in the Adas Israel Congregation, Peoples Congregational United Church of Christ Mitzvah Party in honor of Veteran’s Day, we were able to repair the John McDermott House in Adams Morgan, home to 26 war veterans living in transitional housing.
