from Columbia University. Marty is past chair of the Social Action Committee of
Adas Israel Congregation and a former board member of the Jewish Community Council.
George Brown is an attorney and Senior Vice-President
at the Center for Responsible Lending. Brown was the former Deputy Mayor for Economic
Development in the District of Columbia for Mayor Sharon Pratt Kelly. Brown is
also the Chairman of the Board of the Far SW/SE Community Development Corporation
in Washington, D.C.
is a management consultant to family and closely held firms. His entrepreneurial business experience includes positions as President of the American Political Network, Vice President for Corporate Planning at Circuit City Stores, Inc. and Executive Vice President of U.S. Digital Communications, Inc. Ed holds a Ph.D. from Brandeis University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He is the President-elect of Adas Israel Congregation.
is the Co-Director of the Samberg Family
Foundation in Washington, D.C. Prior to his current position, Jerry was a practicing
housing and community development attorney for over thirty years, specializing
in low-income housing, affordable housing production and financing, and HUD/FHA
housing programs. He also served in various capacities at the federal Department
of Housing & Urban Development for six years. He now serves on the boards of directors
or other leadership committees of a number of non-profit agencies, including the
Jewish Connection Partnership of the Jewish Outreach Institute, “spark:Partnership
for Service”, the Jewish Funders Network, the Jewish Historical Society of Greater
Washington, National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship/Greater Washington,
D.C., Enterprise Mortgage Investments, Inc., Adas Israel Congregation, Manna,
Inc., and the Tzedec Economic Development Fund of the Shefa Fund. Jerry is an
elected Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner and Vice Chair of the Commission for
the Chevy Chase neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
is a journalist with two decades' of
experience writing about housing and community development. She earned her masters
degree in Journalism from American University and her undergraduate degree from
Duke University. In addition to her extensive reporting, Carol has also done writing
and marketing work for several private firms. She is a member of Adas Israel Congregation.
is an independent consultant working
in the community development field. His clients include nonprofit community-based
organizations, foundations, corporations and regional technical assistance groups.
Mark's areas of special interest include capacity building among nonprofit organizations,
the development of partnerships among funders, and faith-based community development.
He is a member of Temple Micah.
is an original member of Yachad's Board
of Directors. He is Executive Director of the National Housing Impact Division
at Fannie Mae. Barry completed the Advanced Management Program at the University
of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and earned his undergraduate degree from Grinnell
College. He is a trustee of the Enterprise Foundation, and serves on the boards
of Mercy Housing, the National Housing Conference, Social Compact and the National
Housing Trust.
